Pre-marital Preparation
Sometimes a couple desires some preparation before they get married. This kind of help can start discussion on some matters that may become more major issues. I offer two forms of help, depending on your personalities. If you are the self-help, do-it-yourself kind of couple, I will gladly supply you a copy of Fixing Your Marriage Before it Starts, and the companion workbook, at my cost (lower than full retail). If you are a couple that prefers some help in getting discussion started, I offer several meetings, each about an hour and a half long, covering a range of topics. These topics include, but are not limited to roles, relatives and relationships, power, money, sex, intangibles such as faith, morals and values, While we may not fully resolve every issue, these meetings can begin your lifelong conversation in areas that every couple faces.
Wedding Vow Renewal
Couples that have been married for some time frequently want a ceremony that will commemorate their original wedding. While not a full wedding ceremony, a simple renewal of the wedding vows, with a reminder homily on the living and developing nature of love, is a perfect way to honor that original commitment. It serves as a re-commitment of the couple to each other, reminding them of what they originally pormised to each other and re-affirming those promises. I am always honored to assist couples with this kind of ceremony, especially when it involves family and friends as witnesses and participants.
